Instant Pot Poached Pears

I’ve always thought poaching things required a fancy outfit and a skill beyond my own. Then I learned it’s just cooking something in hot water and wondered how people charged $20 for poached anything at fancy restaurants.

Since then I’ve learned just how juicy it is when you cook in water, and that you should drink the water after.

These pears are so juicy and even have a caramelized flavor to them as the sugar molecules transform. The warmth of them is so comforting, especially when you add Allspice. If you want them to taste more vibrant for the spring feel free to add basil microgreens, but right now I feel we could all use some comfort.

These pears make a really delicious dessert that fits into all the lifestyles: gluten free, paleo and Whole 30. So feel free to enjoy them wherever you are in life.

Instant Pot Poached Pears Recipe:

1/2 cup water

1-3 pears

Optional: allspice, cinnamon or nutmeg

Pour water into the instant pot and set to 3 minutes. Quick release the pressure with a towel over the steam release.

Let sit for five minutes and try drinking the leftover water.

Enjoy and if you using nutmeg or allspice sprinkle it over the top.

Greetings beautiful people. I bliss out over crafting new flavors, interviewing test makers and restaurant owners and discovering the brain.
