I blissing love curry with everything. The scents fill the nose with layers of aromatics and body cleansing flavor. Air fryer curry chicken breasts take out all guesswork on finding the right spices and oils and heating of the spices to release the aromatics. This magical jar of curry in a hurry by Pure Indian Foods can be spread on meat after it’s cooked so we just air-fried these chicken breasts with some oil and salt then spooned the curry over them like a pesto.

The Flavor of Curry in a Hurry Chicken Breasts

The ghee used as the oil carrying layer of flavor in this jar enhances the spices and adds that buttery joy to every bite. Butter is one of those universal comfort flavors and I think ghee, which removes the whey solids, is the older sister of butter with caramel notes. Ghee is like butter growing up and realizing it has even more layers to its flavor possibilities.

Pure Indian Foods is, as you can tell from the name, dedicated to Indian Flavors and their spices have that punch to the munch you only get from well sources spices curated with love. The spices include garlic, ginger, onion, turmeric, fenugreek, coriander, cumin, and cardamom.

Tools You Need for Air Fryer Curry Chicken Breasts

Ninja Foodi or any Air Fryer – The Ninja Foodi is bliss for these curry chicken breasts because of its roominess. We are just going to use the air crisp function for cooking so you can use any air fryer.

Meat Thermometer Because chicken breasts range in their thickness levels a thermometer will make sure your chicken breasts are not only fully cooked, but also not overcooked.

Silicone Tongs Since we use the basket for these Ninja foodi curry chicken breasts it’s best to use tongs that won’t scratch it, and silicone is perfect for it. They’re also great for moving anything in the main pot as it can easily scratch.

Oil Spray Bottle â€“ Investment that then saves a blisston. Buying spray bottles already filled with oil is double the price or more of just buying the oil. Once you get this bottle you can just fill it yourself.

Guided Recipe for Ninja Foodi Curry in a Hurry Chicken Breasts

Marinated Curry Chicken

Use 3-4 tablespoons of Pure Indian Foods curry in a hurry per chicken breast or the DIY recipe in the recipe card and marinade one pound of chicken breasts in a bag for 1-24 hours. 24 hours will lead to the most flavor. Once marinated follow the recipe below but don’t spoon sauce over at the end as it might be overpowering, feel free to see if the combo works if you love extra curry flavor though!

Note: If using a reusable bag then note that because of the turmeric it will stain some of it yellow. I love the color but fair warning.

Air Fryer Curry Chicken Instructions (Marinated or Spooned Sauce)

Let’s get to creating the easiest air fryer curry chicken breasts. Let the chicken breasts rest for thirty minutes so they come to room temperature then pat them dry with a paper towel to prevent the chicken from steaming when cooking (unless marinated then skip patting them dry).

Put the basket in and preheat the air fryer or Ninja Foodi to 350 degrees for 10 minutes. This will ensure a gorgeous color to the chicken breasts and lock in the juices when the thighs hit the basket.

preheat air fryer or ninja foodi

Skip to the next step if marinated since the marinade has fat and salt in it.

Spray the thighs with one tablespoon of avocado oil or ghee or rub the delicious fat into them. Add a teaspoon of salt between the one pound of chicken by sprinkling it over the chicken.

Once the Ninja Foodi or air fryer is preheated open and quickly add the chicken breasts, you should a hear a sizzle, then add the second one, making sure they are not touching and there is space between them for air to flow.

Air fry the chicken for 16 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Once finished take them out and spoon the curry in a hurry over the chicken breasts, as much as you wish, and feel free to add more. If marinated take a bite first then see If you want to add more sauce. You can also add cilantro or parsley for an herbal addition.

Make Green Beans with Chicken Fat

One of my favorite things about the Foodi is that you can take that leftover fat from cooking, toss veggies in it, and then air fry again. I’m not sure if this works with all air fryers and if you can just pour out the grease from the basket and toss it with the veggies in a bowl. If this works for you let us know in the comments.

Once the curry chicken is finished remove it to a plate and take out the basket and set it aside. Toss a pound of fresh green beans or veggie of choice in the leftover chicken fat.

Once you’ve soaked up all the fat into the beans add them back to the basket then put the basket back in the foodi, or if using an air fryer simply add the beans to a bowl and combine with a tablespoon of avocado oil then add to basket. Use a towel or mitt for the basket since it’s still hot.

Spray with a little extra oil (optional) or add extra oil, add salt to taste and toss once more.

Air fry at 390 degrees for nine minutes. This works for most veggies so toss them halfway through and see how close to done they are by removing one piece, letting it cool and taking a bite.

The chicken should be perfectly cooled so serve immediately.

Make it Mindful

Add some mindfulness to your meal by smelling the curry in a hurry and licking the spoon after you’ve poured it over the chicken. The more you smell as you cook the more you can taste those flavors as you eat and connect more to the food.

Ingredients

1 Pound Chicken Breasts or thighs

Cilantro or Parsley for garnish (optional)

If Using the Curry in a Hurry Sauce From Pure Indian Foods

1 teaspoon Sea Salt

1 Tablespoon Avocado Oil or Ghee

1 Tablespoon per breast Curry in a Hurry from Pure Indian Foods (3 tablespoons per breast if marinating)

If Using DIY Marinade *see notes

DIY Marinade Ingredients

1 teaspoon of salt

2 teaspoons curry powder

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/8 teaspoon pepper or cayenne (for spicy version)

2 Tablespoons Avocado Oil or Olive Oil

Equipment

Ninja Foodi or any Air Fryer

Meat Thermometer- for the perfect doneness

Oil Spray Bottle - Tiny investment that then saves a blisston. Spray bottles already filled with oil are double the price of just buying the oil.

Silicon Tongs: Use these to flip the meat. Silicon is best to avoid scratching your air fryer.

Instructions

1. Let the chicken breasts rest for thirty minutes so they come to room temperature then pat them dry with a paper towel to prevent them from steaming when cooking.

2. Put the basket in and preheat the air fryer or Ninja Foodi to 350 degrees for 10 minutes. This will ensure a gorgeous color to the chicken breasts and lock in the juices when the thighs hit the basket.

3. Spray the chicken with one tablespoon of avocado oil or olive oil. Alternatively, you can rub the oil into the chicken or use ghee for a buttery flavor. Add a teaspoon of salt between one pound of chicken by sprinkling it over the chicken.

4. Once the Ninja Foodi or air fryer is preheated open and quickly add the chicken breasts making sure they are not touching and there is space between them for air to flow.

5. Air fry the chicken for 16 minutes, flipping halfway through. Use a meat thermometer and check that the chicken is cooked to 165 degrees in the thickest part of the chicken.

6. Once finished take them out and spoon the curry in a hurry over the chicken breasts, as much as you wish, and feel free to add more. You can also add cilantro or parsley for an herbal addition.

7. If you want to add a veggie to your meal remove the chicken from the basket and for the Ninja Foodi (air fryer below) remove the basket itself (it's hot so use protection). Toss green beans or any veggie in the fat then remove the beans once you've absorbed all of it. Add the veggies back to the basket and add any extra oil needed. Air fry at 390 for 8-12 minutes depending on the veggie (softer veggies are shorter times where green beans are 9 minutes).

If using an air fryer and not the Foodi then toss green beans in oil after removing the chicken and air fry at 390. You might be able to pour out the chicken fat from the air fryer, I'm just not sure since I don't have one.

Notes

To use the sauce as a marinade take 2-3 tablespoons of Curry in a hurry sauce per chicken breast and add to a bag. If using DIY Marinade combine everything in a bowl and toss the chicken in it. Marinate for 1-24 hours.  Once marinated continue with the steps below but do not pat the chicken dry or spray any extra oil or salt on the chicken since those ingredients are in the marinade.  The following steps are for spooning sauce over the chicken at the end from the curry in a hurry jar.
